I don't want to talk about it......

This is allllll I want to think about. After I do this for several hours, I am going to track down Mother Nature and kick her in the rocks.
4-8 more inches of the white stuff and I don't mean buttercream icing and milk.
GAAAAAAAAH!

A....OOOOoooooo!!

I bought these shoes to wear to the movies to see The Wolfman, but they had to order in my size and it took longer then expected.
My mom sent me the money to get them for my birthday. My mom is cool like that.
I LOVE THEM!! They have velvet onthe inside foot pad and red velvet on the heel and the toe. They have the wolfman on the sides and his bloody teeth carefully holding my foot in the shoe. They ar 5" heels which is probably the highest heel I own. I had to have them, even to just wear them around the house.
Sorry for the bad picture. Do you know how hard it is to take pictures of your own feet??

Random stupidity...

What the cabbage! I mean banana!!
Sam and I saw this on TOSH.O the other night.
I peed my pants laughing, so enjoy this dude with too much time on his hands. Like ME!
And you might want to pee BEFORE you watch it. Cuz if you don't find this funny. You need to talk to your doctor about changing your meds!

Damn I wish I was your lover.....

Troy and I have almost met a milestone. This is our 19th year being hitched and let me tell ya..... It has been a wicked awesome ride.
I recommend marriage to anyone that is willing to meet in the middle. Troy has had to put up with my sh...enanigans and I have had to put up with, well, Hunting. Ugh.
I love being Mrs. Micheau and can't wait to say I have been married to this goofy, dorky, manly man for another 19 years. You complete me buttweed. ; )

In Memorium

This is from the e-mail I recieved this morning.
Cesar Millan, all his family and friends, his staff and volunteers, and dog lovers all around the world today will mourn the passing of one of the most loyal, trusting, well-balanced, and influential pit bull ambassadors the world has ever known. Daddy, Cesar's longtime friend and partner in canine rehabilitation, died peacefully surrounded by family on Friday the 19th of February. He was sixteen years old.He lived each day of those sixteen years happy and fulfilled as Cesar's right-hand-"man," helping to shape the behavior of entire generations of dogs by showing them the way to balance. He stood as champion for calm-submissive pit bulls everywhere, and was instrumental in helping to repair their image as violent, savage, uncontrollable beasts. He successfully battled cancer and weathered chemotherapy, and even got the opportunity to present at the 56th Annual Creative Arts Emmy Awards! His name is now added to that honorable roster of dogs gone by whose influence is still felt today, and which includes some of Cesar's beloved childhood heroes: "Rin-Tin-Tin." "Lassie." ... "Daddy."He has been immortalized by Dog Whisperer fans in all mediums, from painting, to photographs, to charcoal drawings and papier-mâché sculpture. And, of course, he lives on in his work, reflected in the balance and calm-submission of his protégé Junior, the countless animals to whom he was a positive role model, and in the hearts and minds of everyone who knew him as a calm, sweet, and mellow example of a widely misunderstood breed.
In Loving Memory.
This paragraph says it all. I am devastated for Cesar and his family along with the Pit Bull community. If you would like to make a donation to the Milan Foundation in Daddy's name you can go here: http://www.millanfoundation.org/donate/dear.php

How amazing

It was a very long day, starting at 7:30, but Sam and I had a blast! We rode on Coach buses down to DC and were able to watch Night a the Museum on tiny TV's on the bus for 2 hours then were dropped off right in front of the National Museum of Natural History. We ended up walking down to the Air and Space museum for an hour and then came back to the history museum because we were meeting some classmates there for lunch. We had a wonderful lunch. I had Beef brisket with roasted potaotes and grilled acorn squash. Sam had pizza & most of my brisket! We then headed to te National Geographic Photography contest winners exhibit where I took this picture. And several others. The contest is always very emotional for me, because so many wonderful wildlife and planetary moments are captured. You can see the winners here:

Then we went to the Ocean Hall which was not open for several years for renovations. IT-WAS-AMAZ-A-ZING!!
There was a lot to learn and tons to see. We loved the deep sea section. Sam with a very large jellyfich replica.

This was one of many favorite pictures at the photo exhibit. It was the youth photographer of the year who took this wonderful picture of an owl about to take flight.

Back to Ocean Hall. This is what Sam wanted to go to see. The Giant Squid, Architeuthis. This squid is not as impressive as the one they had in the exhibit in years past.

I snapped this picture of a Floppy Basset hound hanging from his masters car window on our walk to the museum's. You can see the Smithsonian castle in the background.

The Terra Cotta warrior exhibit was just amazing. It was unreal, honestly. They had 7 warriors, a horse, 3 musicians and all kinds of neat artifacts that were found in different pits in China. My favorite were the small clay coffin's that were found with exotic animal bones in them of deer, birds and monkeys along with clay bowls to feed them with in the afterlife. And the life size bronze swans and herons in the "entertainment" section of the pit that were on display.
We brought home a 10" clay warrior to remember the day. He was made in the same way as the warriors found in China. You can get your clay warrior here: http://www.shopterracottawarriors.com
The detail in these small replicas is nothing compared to the details in the few original we were so fortunate to see.

It was very quiet in the exhibit, there was alot of reading to do, but people were in awe. You could hear a pin drop. It really was a fantastic exerience for me. I was the last to come out of the exhibit because I just found myself staring at the warriors wondering who they were. Each warrior was unique with his own facial features, height and personality. It was spooky. They had to be modeled after real people.
After the Terra cotta exhibit, it was off to Hunt Valley where we had tickets to see Percy Jackson and the Lightning Theif. The kids read the book for school while studying Greek Mythology. All the girls thought Percy was "HOT". I had forgotten what it was like to be a teenager. ha ha
We got home at 10:15.

I love you & I miss you

Aubrey Susan Keelean is my 13 year old niece who passed away in March 2006. It seems like yesterday and some days are more raw then others. I read the letters she wrote me as she was growing up as often as possible. Some just said I LOVE YOU-write me. I keep her pictures and a few of her things that my sister was generous enough to give me, close.

It also helps to be surrounded by beings that need you to stay focused, strong and balanced, other wise, I would be a mess all the time.

There were a lot of miracles that surrounded Aub's passing. Things that most humans would never believe or comprehend. She just needed her mom and dad to know she was ok.

Their community in Oklahoma came together in a way I have never seen and every time Aubreys friends get a chance, they remember her in the most amazing & wonderful ways. Her grave site is never without balloons, letters, stuffed animals and flowers.

I pray for my sister everyday, that she can just get up and make it through her day without too much pain, but I know being a mom, that is impossible. I love my sister for trying to be strong and know she has moments that no one should ever have to feel. And I wish I could take the pain for her.

We love you Aubrey-doodle and I can't wait to see you again some day!

I am SO excited.....

WOW! I can't believe the weekend is finally here. (Almost)
Sam and I are going on a field trip with 79 other SMS classmates to the National Geographic Museum in Washington DC on Saturday to see China's Terra Cotta Warrior exhibit. This will be a once in a lifetime opportunity and we are both really looking forward to it.
A good friend of mine had mentioned that seeing the warriors was on his bucket list and I have to agree, it should be for anyone who loves History, archeology or China and all it's mystery and magic.
I will not be able to take any pictures of these international treasures, but you can see plenty of them here:
A small exerpt from the wesbite.
Soldiers. Charioteers. Archers. Musicians. Generals. Acrobats. Nearly 2,000 years ago, thousands of life-size clay figures were buried in massive underground pits to accompany China's first emperor, Qin Shihuangdi, into the afterlife. Their discovery outside the city of Xi'an in 1974 is one of the greatest archaeological finds of the 20th century.
There was a show a few years ago on NATGEO about the actual dig site in China and the Terra Cotta statues they found were unbelieveable, birds, horses, dogs, people. Thier culture purely believed in the afterlife.

Are u an optimum pooper?

OMG! I saw this commercial the other night on animal planet and about fell off of the couch laughing. Too all my friends who own dogs, you know it's what we strive for....HAHAHA!!
An Optimum pooper! They couldn't have picked a cuter dog.

Gears of Addiction

UGH!! I am SO addicted to this game. I love it! Sam and I play Co-op and because he is very good at these kinds of games, it is a blast. At the moment we are inside a giant worm that is eating the city building by building. Looks like it is not going to end well for the worm! HA!
Gears of War 2 has a great story line, tons of cinematics and loads of shooting, loads and loads of shooting! With a CHAINSAW gun. Yes, there is a chainsaw at the end of your gun, that you can use to slice and dice locusts and grubs, or wretches...among other creepy crawlers. You get to drive vehicles, shoot big guns, mortar launchers and alien weapons. Or you can just use your fists or the butt of your gun! Either way, it is a good way to spend your days stuck inside because of snow!
Marcus Fenix and his child hood friend Dominic Santiago are GEARS. Solidiers sent out in the world to fight the hordes of locusts and help preserve the human race from extinction. Both Fenix and Dom have lost thier familes to the monsters, so what do they have to loose? It's none stop action and fast paced. Both Gears of War and Gears of War 2 are available now with Fenix and Dom making an appearance in the upcoming Lost Planet 2 arriving in stores in May. I have to say I have a huge crush on Fenix. Could it be that chain saw gun? Or his use of the word Grub? ; )

Only available on X-box 360. (Neener-neener) You can also find the very well written books at any book store.

Justified

This show is going to be bad-ass! It stars Timothy Olyphant (Gone in 60 seconds: Are you ok? Cuz you juuust went through a wall!, Hitman and the upcoming The Crazies.)
as a U.S marshall thrown back in his hometown of Kentucky to deal with the hooligans he use to run with.
The story looks to be very deep, with a lot of action, I'm certain some cheesy comedy too and then there is the adorable guy in the cowboy hat! ahem.
Premieres on the FX channel March 16.
If you are not familiar with FX, they can preeeety much get away with anything. So be prepared for profanity, nudity, blood, violence, drugs and sex etc. etc....
Rated MA for all of the above.

The Wolfman

Sam and I went to see this movie today and it was much better then I expected. The CGI was really fantastic, the story was old school and the Wolfman was like Teen Wolf on crack.

It was gory, scary and dark. It was filmed in a foggy, damp setting that gave you chills. Around every corner was something waiting to jump out and eat you. It was the first movie I have seen Sam cover his eyes watching since Jim Carey smiled as the Grinch!

Benicio Del Toro did a great job being creepy and Sir Anthony Hopkins lends his stiff, acting chops as the "Father".

It starts off slow, telling the story of "The Beast" that roamed the moors during the full moon, but soon picks up when Del Toro is bitten and no one believes he is a horrible man killer during the full moon. The best scene is when they torture him and then strap him to a chair, wheel him into a room full of moronic doctors and scholars and wait for him to "change" to prove he is crazy, taunting him because they think he is delusional, only to have him threaten to kill them all shortly. Which he does. It's a classic scene with guts, blood and lots of screaming! The monster transformation is really gut wrenching.

The Wolfman was a classic with the legendary creature actor Lon Chaney Jr, and shall stay a classic with this new adaptation on a fun, scary movie.

Great for Valentines day! ; )

Kick-Ass!

I don't know about you, but I cannot wait to see this flick. It is so twisted and disturbing that it has to be witnessed on the big screen. The original trailer with the kid jumping off of a building and trying to fly, only to land on a car with a KABOOM... Yikes, it was a little dark.....the 2nd trailer is much better and really got me excited. (Especially the scene with the custom red Stang, Hubba-hubba)
These "Superheroes" have no special powers and you could almost call them vigilantes. They have decided to take crime into their own hands, even if it means getting their ASS-KICKED!
You have Kick Ass, Big Daddy, Red Mist and Hit girl with her cute purple wig.
I think it will be entertaining, funny, and possibly make you go "WTF?"
Out in theaters April 16. Rated R for strong brutal violence, pervasive language, sexual content, nudity and some drug use - some involving children.

Hippity-Hoppity

Easter is on it's way! Sing it with me people of the East coast!! Snowbound and staying liquored up to avoid cabin fever, I decided to put out a few Spring decorations in hopes that Mother nature will get the drift....Before I punch her in the face....

Good'ay mate!

I am so excited to report that Ms. Bindi Sue Irwin will be in her first feature film! (Remember Crocodile Hunter: Collision course?)
Free Willy: Escape from pirates cove.
How exciting for her! I know her dad would be so proud.
I have a lot of respect for this little girl. She has some huge shoes to fill and is working very hard to fill them.
As all of you know Steve is one of my heroes. And I am looking forward to watching his daughter take up where he left off in preserving and educating about our planets wildlife.
The film is going straight to DVD this year.

Calgon take me away!! PLEASE!

OK--It was pretty the first 5 minutes during the FIRST storm over the weekend, now it is just getting ridiciulous!
The animals have been stuck inside for almost a week, which means more work for us....
Spring cannot get here fast enough. I am thankful to have plenty of munchies in the house and the electricity has stayed on out here.

Zinny peeking out from around a piece of plastic we put on the front of her barn. It was filling with snow!

We are thinking between the last storm and this one around 47" here in the valley.

Winged Migration

Sam and I recently watched this movie again and I had honestly forgotten how powerful it is. It made me so emotional. It is so nice to be reminded why we admire certain animal species. And as most of you know, I love birds.
The artistry in the way the birds are filmed is so beautiful. To see the world through their eyes. Experience migration, birth, death, play. It is all quite amazing.
It is a foreign film, but luckily, there is not much talking only honking, peeping, chattering and chirping!
The movie was filmed over 4 years by Jaques Perrin and his team. They capture so many wonderful moments in the bird kingdom. Dancing and playing cranes, baby arctic owls and Canadian geese in the desert! Who knew?
You can get all the info about the movie from the link I provided. It was shown on the HD Movie channel on DISHTV.
Sam and I also watched another film by the same people called Microcosmos, which was about insects and small critters in a huge field. Very cool. Sam was very little when we watched it so he was amazed to say the least.
You can read a review here, but it's not like any review I have ever read.

Is it spring yet?

Late afternoon and it finally stopped snowing. The sun came out and the wind died down.

I think we are expecting some more snow the end of the week!! But Thank goodness it is done for now.
Troy will have paths shoveled to all the barns which will make my life so much easier and less exhausting.

Still snowin...UGH!

Snow and more snow
It was brutal out there this morning. The snow came up over my knees (I am 5'10") and was not as light and fluffy as I thought. It was a huge workout.
The way my barns are set up, I have to walk from one end of the yard to the other to feed everyone. Troy started shoveling paths, but with the wind blowing, they were soon filled with snow. The animals are all fine, just stuck inside today and probably tomorrow....
Even though I wrapped the flight cage with tarps, snow still found a way in. The chickens were reluctant to come out, but some braved the snow. After I kicked around the shavings so they would have to get their toe-sies cold.

Maggie LOVES the snow. She is standing in my path. And that is a picnic table in the background. We have calculated about 22" here and it is still coming down.

Maisey our snow kitty trying to catch up with me in the other pasture where Leland and Calico are snuggled in their barn.

You can see Friday the goat trying to sneak into the feed room and the peacock enclosure is filled with snow even with a tarp. I have them locked inside their part of the barn.

Did I move to Antarctica?

I woke up this morning to quite a bit of snow. And to add to the craziness, now it has begun to blow. Well! that was Dr. Suess-ish!

The wind has really picked up and now we have drifting. See the evergreen tree? It's branches do not normally touch the ground. And the road that runs in front of the house has disappeared.

I have yet to go outside and take care of the animals, but when I do, I will get some more pictures. It should be interesting once the wind really starts to throw snow around.

Sand and Blood

I have been watching Spartacus: Sand and Blood now playing on the premium channel STARZ. I am not real sure if I like.
It is filmed a lot like 3oo with Sam Raimi directing.
In a way I am a bit disappointed. 300 being one of my all time favorite movies, not only for the way it was filmed, but for it's storyline. So I feel that the film 300 has been ripped off a bit. No one writes comics like Frank Miller.
Spartacus has been a bit boring, with too much nudity, slow-mo and not enough story. Probably the only reason to watch it is for upcoming star Andy Whitfield.
I am going to continue to watch Spartacus and will give you another update. It is on Starz Friday nights at 10. It is rated MA for strong sexual situations, violence, sensuality and blood.

Damn the Gods

I don't know about anyone else, but I am so excited about this movie! I know...another remake. But Clash of the Titans!! Krakens, Fates, ginormous scorpions, flying horses oh my.
Sorry to say, there will be no stop motion, but I don't think we will be disappointed.
I fell in love with the old movie as a child and I am certain I will fall in love with the remake as an adult. Flying horse!!! Did I mention a BLACK flying horse?
Have you seen the newest trailer? Rock out to The Used with a new version of their song The worm and the bird.
Did I mention a flying horse? A black one?
Sam Worthington suits up as the demi god Perseus. MHM.
Out in the theaters March 26th. Be there or be too tan like Harry Hamlin!
http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0800320/

No matter how you look at it, The Kraken was pretty bitchin in this classic movie.

In loving memory.....

I miss u.

It has been years, but it seems like yesterday when I wrapped my arms around your neck and sank my face into your soft, warm fur, smelling of fresh hay and shavings. I miss you my friend.

My heart still hurts.

Calm b4 the storm.....

Well, we are expecting ANOTHER snow storm tomorrow into Saturday. 8-18". YAY!!
I snapped this picture yesterday evening. I find a gift in everything.
The sun fell out of the sky quickly after I took the picture.

Nut up or Shut up!

I am going to get a lot of flack for this one, but I think ZL is one of the best Zombie movies since Return of the living dead! Ya know....BRAINS!! It scared the bajesus out of me, but was cheesy as hell....

Cept they find new and exciting ways to slice and dice the dead bags of flesh! Banjo's, garden weasels and truck doors.

It's funny, gory, has great characters and you have to love the "rules" and that scary freakin zombie clown!!!! ACK!
The music they used in this flick was awesome too I mean can you really go wrong with Metallica?

If you didn't get to see it at the theater, rent it. It came out yesterday. It is rated R for profanity, gore and violence.

We love bunner's.

Nevin is a Netherland dwarf and about 10 weeks old. He has never been outside before, so being in the hutch was a big deal. I caught him just sitting in front of the door staring out into the yard! So much to take in for such a small critter.

Nibblin some hay. I covered the hutch with hay from one end to the other.....

Peekin'.......I love this picture.

SNOW!!

I woke to the phone ringing at 5:25 a.m. It was the school telling me that Sam had a 2 hour delay. COOL! I went back to sleep.

When I wake up in the morning, I always peek out back to count everyone and this morning I wanted to see what the phone call from the school was about.

It is a beautiful soft, fluffy snow that is sticking to everything, even the donkey!! So I want to share. I know some of you have had more snow then us, but still! I'm cool like dat!
Morty ain't skeered of nuttin! Not even snow.....

Some of the chickens find dry ground under the big evergreen tree.

Zinny enjoying the snow, and well, also looking for cookies. Her allergies have been so bad lately. I wish there was more I could do, but the meds are so hard on her body, I don't want to give her any more then I need to make her comfy. Her under coat is so thick and she is looking a bit lean because she has been crying for a man the last week. : (
I might talk to the vet about having her spayed this spring.

Sorry for the generic background. I have alot of work to do and being on dial up slows down the process incredibly....GRRR!!
