Aubrey Susan Keelean is my 13 year old niece who passed away in March 2006. It seems like yesterday and some days are more raw then others. I read the letters she wrote me as she was growing up as often as possible. Some just said I LOVE YOU-write me. I keep her pictures and a few of her things that my sister was generous enough to give me, close.
It also helps to be surrounded by beings that need you to stay focused, strong and balanced, other wise, I would be a mess all the time.
There were a lot of miracles that surrounded Aub's passing. Things that most humans would never believe or comprehend. She just needed her mom and dad to know she was ok.
Their community in Oklahoma came together in a way I have never seen and every time Aubreys friends get a chance, they remember her in the most amazing & wonderful ways. Her grave site is never without balloons, letters, stuffed animals and flowers.
I pray for my sister everyday, that she can just get up and make it through her day without too much pain, but I know being a mom, that is impossible. I love my sister for trying to be strong and know she has moments that no one should ever have to feel. And I wish I could take the pain for her.
We love you Aubrey-doodle and I can't wait to see you again some day!
